Edward George Nisbett

Edward George Nisbett died peacefully on Aug. 2, 2021, after a brief illness.

He was born on Feb. 24, 1929 in Glasgow, Scotland. One of four boys. He graduated from The University of Glasgow with a metallurgical engineering degree. Edward emigrated to the United States with his family in 1967 and settled in Warren, Pa. There he worked as a metallurgist for the National Forge Company in nearby Irvine, Pa.

He traveled the world sharing his knowledge and expertise in his field. He was a member of ASTM and ASME eventually chairing several committees on metallurgy and material standards. After retiring from National Forge, Ed went on to do contract work and moved to Navarre, Fla. He was always an avid traveler, enjoyed his RV and seeing the world. He moved to Washington state in 2015 to be closer to his family.

Ed is survived by his son, Simon and daughter-in-law, Shannon ,who both reside in Monroe, Wash.
