Shirley L. Bennett

Shirley was born Aug. 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Stephen and Luella Kitchen.

A lifelong area resident, Shirley was a graduate of the Sheffield High School and was employed at Blair Corporation in the Mail Department, from which she retired. Shirley enjoyed family dinners at her late mother’s home, liked to play card games, watching her bird feeders at her home, growing vegetable, and beautiful flowers, and trying new recipes and foods. She had a sweet tooth for treats, loved laughing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She al-ways lent and ear and pro-vided supportive words. She will be remembered, missed and loved always.

Shirley is survived by two daughters: Elaine Wertz and Nancy Baughman; a son, Gene Bennett; grandchildren: Kasey Peter-sen Deja and her husband, Tom, Jobie Petersen and his wife, Kelly, and Shawn Wertz and companion, Kristen Mead; great grandchildren: Drew and Ty Deja, Kylie and Kaden Petersen, Graysen Wertz, and Baylee Mead; and a great-grandson, Ramsey Bennett.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence (Larry) Bennett; a grandson, Chad Bennett; a brother, Russell Kitchen; and a daughter- in- law, Larae I. Bennett.
