Donald E. Helman

Donald E. Helman, 79, of Youngsville, Pa., passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice Residence in Warren.

Don was born Sept. 15, 1941, in Indiana, Pa., to the late Clair and Cordelia Helman. Don was owner and operator of Super 30 Sports Center and also worked at the Wabtec Rubber plant in Greensburg, Pa.

He was a lifetime member of the NRA, an avid hunter and angler and was a member Hermine 2 Game Association.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carrie Ann Helman; a son, Doug and Shawna Helman of Youngsville; a grandson, Nicholas Helman; a grand-daughter, Molly Helman; his sister, Myrtle Bicker-staff of Latrobe, Pa.; a brothe,r Norman Helman of Jeannette, Pa.; his sister -in-law, Cindee (Dave) Hadbavny of Westmoreland City, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Ginger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rick Helman; and three sisters: Ruth Cunnard, Jean Shirley and Kathryn Dopkowski.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 29t, at 11 a.m. at the Brush Creek Cemetery in Irwin, Pa.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.

The Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Youngsville, have been entrusted with all arrangements.
