Katherine Adams Judson

Katherine Adams Judson, 90, of Youngsville, Pa., passed away on Nov. 27, 2020, at her home.

She was born Sept. 24, 1930, in Connellsville, Pa., a daughter to the late Jack and Grace (Daniels) Adams. Kass was one of eleven children, two of which died of the Spanish Flu in 1917.

She was a 1948 graduate of White Memorial High School in Knox, Pa., and then went on to earn her Bachelors of Science degree in Education from Clarion University in 1952. Continuing with her education, Kass graduated with a Master’s degree from Pitt University in 1966. She taught English at Youngsville High School for many years, serving as the department chair until her retirement in 1987. She also taught college level courses at Pitt Titusville.

She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Warren, Pa, where she was a soloist and choir member. Kass was also a vocal apprentice for 10 years for the Chautauqua Opera Company Chorus in Chautauqua, N.Y. She was a member of the Youngsville Teachers association as well as 50 year D.A.R. member.

Kass is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, M. Neil Judson, her step-daughter, Judy J. Vandine and her siblings.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 Market Street, Warren, Pa 16365. A private burial will follow at the West Monterey Cemetery.
