Herman C. Ruhlman Jr.

Herman C. Ruhlman Jr., 72, of 15 Annis St., Frewsburg, passed away Friday (Apr. 2, 2021) at his home.

He was born January 17, 1949 in Warren, PA, the son of Herman Sr. and Virginia Lee Ruhlman.

Herman attended Youngsville Schools.

He went to work for Rand Machine Products in Falconer, in May of 1969 at the age of 19.

Herman joined the US Air Force in 1968 where he served four years. He spent two years at Clark Air Base in the Philippine Islands and finished his last two years of active duty at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, NY.

Upon leaving the Air Force, he attended California State College graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology and a teaching degree in Industrial Arts.

Herman returned to Rand Machine as general manager in 1974. He took control of Rand Machine as President/CEO in January of 1980, which he owned and operated for thirty-seven years.

Herman is survived by his wife Lorraine Hanson Bjork Ruhlman with whom he shared many years of happiness; three sons: Brian (Veronica) Ruhlman of Clark Lake, MI, Jason (Sandy) Ruhlman of Frewsburg, and Chad (Jen) Ruhlman of Erie, PA.; three step-children: Bethany Bjork of Colorado Springs, Co., Michele (Michael) Schmatz of Geneseo, NY, and Randall (Sherry) Bjork of Frewsburg; his grandchildren: Kevin, Katelyn, Emma, Gracie, and Samantha Ruhlman, Teghan and Jaden Trochi, Reid, Trent, and Aleah Bjork, Timothy Noah, and Ben Schmatz, Christina Schroer, David and Andrew Liebers, and Britalena Murello; four great-grandchildren, a brother; James (Karen) Ruhlman of Miramar Beach, FL, two sisters: Jacqueline (James) Menke of San Diego, CA, and Carole Roberson of Corry, PA , his aunt, Genevieve Knapp of Youngsville, PA, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Greg Ruhlman.

A private funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. Pastor Al Meyers will officiate.

Burial will be in Youngsville Cemetery, Youngsville, PA.

The family will receive friends for a walk-through visitation from 4 -7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Masks will be required.
