Eugene Gerald Crosby

Eugene Gerald Crosby, 71, of Bear Lake, Pa., passed away April 5, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family after suffering from a stroke.

He was born March 9, 1950, in Corry, Pa., a son of the late Gerald and Audrey Main Crosby.

Gene attended the Bear Lake Elementary School until fifth grade. He then at-tended school in Panama, N.Y., and graduated from Panama Central School District in 1968. Following high school, he attended Jamestown Business College, where he graduated with a degree in Accounting. Gene worked several jobs in accounting and sales. He owned and operated the Bear Lake Mini Mart for several years. He also worked for Blair Corporation in Warren, Pa., and then Warren County School district where he re-tired from.

One of Gene’s greatest accomplishments is the value of family that he and Naomi instilled in all of their children. Gene and his family enjoyed spending time together either by playing games, camping or having picnics. He also en-joyed attending his children and grandchildren’s activities, chauffeuring the grandkids around or just sharing stories with them around a campfire.

Gene had a love for books and model trains. He was a member of the Bear Lake VFD and devoted many years as treasurer and helping with fund raising activities. Gene loved spending his spring and summers camping at Hem-lock Lakes Campground with Naomi and their “C section family.”

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Juanita Bouch; fathers-in-law, Warren Cowan and Edward Bouch; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Haskins and Timothy Cowan.

Gene is survived by his wife Naomi Cowan Crosby whom he married September 20, 1969 in Bear Lake, Pa.; four daughters, Tammy Head and her husband Scott of Bear Lake, Pa., Amy Nelson and her husband Don of Warren, Pa., Jennifer Cooper and her husband Kevin of Titusville, Pa., and Elizabeth Mitchell and her husband Kris of Russell Pa.; two sisters, Jeanette Haskins and Susan Crosby both of Bear Lake, Pa.; and a brother, Harold Crosby and his wife Marie of Jamestown, N.Y.

Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Logan (Lauren) Head, Louie, Spencer, Alexis and Garret Head, Hunter Crosby, Park-er and Samantha Cooper, Reid and Grayson Mitchell and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 1 p.m. The Rev. Jeff Ewing of the First Lutheran Church in Warren, Pa. will officiate. Due to CDC regulations, masks and social distancing will be required.

Burial will be in Bear Lake Cemetery, Bear Lake, Pa.
