Delores J. Haley

Delores J. Haley, 91, of 74 Hammond St., formerly of Frewsburg, passed away Friday (April 9, 2021) at her home.

She was born Oct. 11, 1929, in Akeley, Pa., the daughter of Clarence and Mildred Rowley Carlson.

Delores had been employed as an assistant manager at Marine Midland Bank and prior to that at Loblaws and the Jamestown Hotel.

She was a member of the Kiantone Congregational Church, Kiantone Historical Society, Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Panama Senior Citizens, Westfield Quilters Guild, and she had been on the board of Pals for Preemies.

Delores is survived by four children: Allen Haley of Fentonville, Randy (Carol) Haley of Clarendon, Brenda (James) Roberts of Russell, and Laurie Haley of Jamestown; ten grandchildren: Jeff, Jeremy, Nathan, and Michael Haley, Sheila Turner, Michelle Brown, Brandi Ekey, Josh Roberts, Michele Rockwell and Tyler Abbott; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers: Charles (Shirley) Carlson of Utica and Clarence (Barbara) Carlson of Akeley, Pa.; and two sisters: Beverly Himes of Warren, Pa., and Anne Poleon of Lithia, Fla.

Delores is predeceased by her husband, Allen G. Haley who died July 9, 2013; a brother, Harry Carlson; a sister, Mary Lou Carlson; a great-grandson, Christopher Haley; and three nephews; Craig and Ron Carlson, and Larry Himes.

A private graveside service will be held today at Fentonville Cemetery, Frewsburg. Rev. Mel. McGinnis, pastor of Kiantone Congregational Church will officiate.

Visitation was private.

A celebration of Delores’s life will be held at a later date.
