John Allen Asp

John Allen Asp, 72, of Allentown, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021 in his home.

He was the devoted husband of Susan R. (Hollabaugh) Asp.

Born in Warren, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Harold and Louise (Kahle) Asp.

John was a graduate of Youngsville High School, class of 1966. He went on to attend Penn State University where he studied Architecture.

John was a Drywall Con-tractor for most of his life until retiring. He enjoyed reading, organic gardening and cruises. John loved watching NASCAR races and football (E-A-G-L-E-S!). He had a passion for current events and loved his sports car and new mega-garage which became a family event center.

Above all, John loved his family and they loved him dearly. He loved spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren. He loved reading to and playing games with them, as well as taking them on walks in his gar-den. John’s love for his wife Susan showed each week as he supported local florists by buying flowers for her. John was always laughing and his specialty was making people laugh with his sarcastic one-liners.

John lived life authentically as himself on his own terms. Anyone who knew him would know he would never want all the attention on himself, including his obituary most likely. He left a legacy of appreciating the beauty of nature, simplicity, honesty, integrity, and laughing often and will be deeply missed by all he touched.
