Edna M. Caldwell
Edna M. Caldwell, 97, formerly of Youngsville, P.A., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021 at her daughter Shirley’s home in Edinboro, with her daughter and niece Diane by her side. She was born on May 8, 1923 at home in Youngsville, a daughter to the late Ralph and Rose (Finlan) Sullivan. She was a 1943 Youngsville High School graduate and worked at the East End Grocery Store as a clerk for many years, as well as an inspector at the New Process, retiring from there. In her earlier years, Edna loved to knit and she also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Earlier in her life, she did a lot of ceramics and sewing. Edna was dedicated to the Youngsville Cemetery Association were she served as Secretary/Treasurer for many years. Her recall for the cemetery layout and family plots was amazing. Edna and her husband loved to roller skate and did so well into their 70’s. Edna is survived by her daughter, Shirley Bayle of Edinboro, P.A.; her siblings, Clarence (Violet) Sullivan and Hazel Taydus, both of Youngsville; her grandchildren, Tracy Weaver of Virginia, Kelly Caldwell of Warren, Quinn (Jennifer) Bayle of Erie, P.A., Kyle Bayle, Shane (Jessica) Bayle, Casey Bayle and Rusty (Jane) Bayle, all of Utah; her great-grandchildren, Izabelle and Terryn Bayle, a daughter-in-law, Kay Caldwell and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Caldwell; two sons, Raymond L. and Terry L. Caldwell as well as several siblings. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 314 N. Main Street, Youngsville, P.A. 16371, from 11a.m.-noon at which time a funeral service will be held there with the Rev. Jeff Canter, pastor of the Youngsville Evangelical United Methodist Church, officiating. Masks will be required. Burial will follow in the Youngsville Cemetery.
