Rose M. Curtis

Rose M. Curtis, 82, of Warren, Pa., passed away peacefully Jan. 23, 2021, after illness due to CO-VID-19. She was born May 4, 1938, in Mayburg, Pa., to the late Samuel and Stella Zaffino.

Rose is remembered as a strong and adoring mother, grandmother and sister. She always brought a smile to her loved one’s faces with a good story and a warm hug. Rose worked for Sylvania, Valone Shoes, Brown’s Boot Shop and finally K-Mart before retiring several years ago. She spent her retirement with her family, baking with her grandchildren, reading and rooting for her favorite college football teams, among other things. She was also a dedicated viewer of her favorite soap opera “The Young and the Restless” for much of her life. She was an avid bowler throughout her life and at-tended many tournaments. She will be greatly missed by her bowling league teammates, including her granddaughter, Julie.

She is loved and survived by her son, Joseph Curtis and wife, Valerie, of Warren; granddaughters: Hannah and Julie Curtis; her pride and joy, great-grandchildren: Jameson, Noah and Harley; sister, Susie Donisi, Jamestown, N.Y.; brother, Ned Zaffino and wife. Dottie; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Zaffino; brother-in-law, James Greenland; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, James C. Curtis; parents, Samuel and Stella Zaffino; brother, Bruno (Chuck) Zaffino; two sisters: Josephine Greenland and Mary Delores Zaffino; and brother-in-law, Joseph Donisi, Jamestown, N.Y.
