Gordon “Gordy” E. Wilcox

Gordon E. Wilcox, died at UPMC Hamot on Saturday, Jan, 2, 2021. He was born in Warren, Pa., on July 18, 1942, son of the late Gordon and Beatrice Gern Wilcox.

Gordy graduated from Youngsville High School, Youngsville, Pa. He attended Jamestown Business School in Jamestown, N.Y. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S.Navy and served aboard the destroyer USS Eugene A. Greene. Upon being discharged from the U.S. Navy, he worked at the National Forge in Irvine, the National Forge in Erie, and Custom Engineering in Erie. He was a current member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, and the Lawrence Park Athletic Club. He loved going to NASCAR races and was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Overton Wilcox, whom he married on Jan. 15, 2020; children: James Wilcox and Christopher (Peggy) Wilcox, both of Chesapeake, Va., and Amy (Stephen) Dasinger of Charleston, S.C.; one brother, Richard (Kathleen) Wilcox of Fairview; grandchildren: James, Christina, Brandon, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Samantha, and Anna Lee; one great-grandson, Mason; one nephew, Wesley Wilcox; one niece, Kristina Wilcox; along with one uncle and several cousins. He is also survived by his stepchildren: Brian Glavis, James Glavis and Ellie Pelensky; two brothers-in-law: Herman (Lauri) Daley and Michael (Tami) Daley; and two sisters-in-law: Augusta (Bruce) Brown and Robin Lee (George).

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road.
