Esther Mae Neel

She was born on Dec. 31, 1929, in Seneca, Pa., a daughter to the late James W. and Bessie Mae (Watson) Whitling. Esther worked as an LPN at Warren General Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Lander United Methodist Church where she was involved in many activities, one of which was teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed helping others and working outside to keep up with her yard, but most of all, she love spending time with her grandchildren. They brought much joy to her life and she never missed their sporting events.

Esther is survived by her children: Larry Neel of Bradford, Pa., and Jean Neel of Youngsville, Pa.; her sisters: Joanne Boocks of Florida, and Hazel Whitmer of Ohio; her grandchildren; Ashley Anthony and her companion, Zach Wilcox, Andrew and Colby Neel; her great-grandchildren: Trentin and Kamaya Anthony, Riley Wilcox and Oryon Neel; a niece, Sarah Pridemore; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Hallie Whitling; her siblings: Willis, Harold, Walter, Helen, Merle, Donald and Norman.

A funeral service will be held on Sat., Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 314 N. Main Street, Youngsville, PA 16371, with the Rev. J Mark Hurst, pastor of the Lander United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Brandon Cemetery in Seneca, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lander United Methodist Church, 5582 Rt 957, Russell, PA 16345.
