Colten David Brown

Colten David Brown, 24, of Edinboro, Pa., formerly of Tidioute and Warren, passed away Jan. 6, 2021, following a courageous battle with COVID-19. He is the son of David Brown (Linda Shields) and Pamela Bright (Marvin).

He was born June 27, 1996, at Warren General. He grew up in Tidioute and Warren, and is a graduate of Warren Area High School. He furthered his education at Jamestown Community College and Penn State Behrend, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He was very proud to be an officer with the Erie County Adult Probation and Parole office, as well as an Amway Consultant.

Colt touched many people’s lives. He was a cheerleader to others through his daily Snapchat’s, messages and his use of inspirational quotes and bible verses. He has been described by his friends as loyal, inspirational, and having a true heart of gold. Anyone that encountered Colt knew he had an infectious smile coupled with an enormous bear hug he used every day to make someone’s day brighter. If people needed Colt, he was there, no questions asked. Colten enjoyed living life to the fullest.

Some of Colt’s hobbies include working on his truck (Rhonda), going to the gym, fishing with Ryan, and hunting especially his recent trip to Montana with his father and brother. He also loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his niece and nephews.

Colt was a member of Praise Fellowship Church, Delta Chi Fraternity, North Star Lodge 241, Farrah Grotto, and the Penn State Behrend Competitive Cheer Team. He was also a past Mr. Penn State Behrend.

Colt was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Russell and Dolores Brown and his maternal grandparents, Gordon and Iva Clover.

As well as his parents, survivors include his brother, Cody Brown (wife Meggi); stepbrother, Brandon Shields (fiance, Jacqueline Couch); stepsiste,r Patricia Shields (fiance, Enrique Sanchez), stepbrother, Chris Bright (wife Toryn); niece, Adley Brown; nephews: William and Emilio Sanchez, nephew: Keenan and Levi Bright; niece, Raena Bright; as well as several uncles, aunts and cousins.

Family and friends will be received at the memorial Saturday, Jan. 16 from 1-4 p.m., at Praise Fellowship, (7451 Market Street, Russell, Pa.) A brief service will follow in the church sanctuary, beginning with a Masonic Funeral Service. CDC guidelines will be strictly adhered to.

The options to attend are as follows: included with the indoor memorial, there will also be a funeral registry book to sign at the side entrance for those who wish to remain outdoors.
