David Eugene Turner

David Eugene Turner, 74, of Pittsfield, Pa,, passed away Monday, Dec, 14, 2020, at Warren General Hospital.

He was born Nov. 4, 1946, in Warren, Pa., a son to the late Omer Eugene and Violet (Payne) Turner.

Dave was a 1964 graduate of Youngsville High School and then went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966-67 during the Vietnam War where he was wounded. He was the owner of Turner Enterprises and co-owner of Stateline Speedway. He was president of the board at Warren Electric Cooperative and a board member of the Allegheny Electric Cooperative, a past member of PREA, a charter member of Warren Aviation Club and a member of the Republican Party. Dave was also a Pittsfield township supervisor and an avid supporter of the Warren County Fair. Dave enjoyed racing, hunting, operating equipment and farming, but his greatest joy was watching his granddaughter ride horses and his grandson race go-karts.

He is survived by his children: Ronda Turner and her companion, Steve Carr and Curtis “Chip” (Kristy) Turner, both of Pittsfield; his grandchildren: Kassidy and Jay David Turner, both of Pittsfield; his siblings: Elizabeth Holme of Erie, Pa, Linda Litten of Maryland, Lois Turner of Tennessee, Janice (John) Wilcox of South Carolina, Dale (Nancy) Turner of North Carolina and Daniel Turner of Meadville, Pa. Dave is also survived by his second family siblings: Jean (Jim) Scott, Willie (Joanne) Kellogg, George (Vera) Kellogg, Peggy Nelson, Jimmie (Peggy) Kellogg and Sam (Carol) Kellogg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his second parents, Clarence and Mabel Kellogg, Sadie Kellogg, his siblings, Carol, Margaret and Douglas Turner and Joe Kellogg and a brother-in-law, Tom Nelson.

Family and friends are invited for a drive-thru visitation on Saturday, December 19, from noon-4 p.m., pm at Turner Enterprises, 29280 Route 6, Youngsville, PA 16371.

We ask that all visitors please remain in your car for social distancing purposes. A private family service will take place at the family’s convenience. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Pittsfield.

When I die and go to Heaven, to St. Peter, I will tell: “One more Marine reporting for duty, sir. I’ve served my time in Hell.”
