Mary Allen Russo
Mary Allen Russo, 105, formerly of 8 Elam Ave., passed away peacefully, with her children by her side, on Friday, Oct, 9, 2020m at the Lutheran Retirement Home.
She was born May 24, 1915, in Salina, Pa., a daughter of the late Peter and Pauline Ingrao Chiatello.
For many years, Mary owned and operated the Kinzua Inn in Kinzua, Pa.
She was a member of St. James Church and its Altar & Rosary Society.
Mary’s passions were baking, cooking, entertaining and having large, festive Italian family gatherings, her favorite pastime was ballroom dancing.
Mary’s warm, positive and loving nature is what everyone loved about her.
Surviving are two sons: Richard Allen (Heidi) and Roger Allen (Vicki Cusimano), both of Warren; a daughter, Dr. Debra K. Nagurney also of Warren; six grandchildren: Audrey, Keith, Steven, Gwen, Michael and Bryan Allen; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Benjamin George Allen and second husband, Joseph A. Russo; a son, Kenneth Allen; sister, Katherine Condio; and two brothers: Joseph and Matthew Chiatello.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. James Church. The Rev. Darrel Duffy will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Following pandemic regulations for social distancing, friends will be received on a walkthrough basis from 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Masks are required at all times.
