James B. Montgomery Sr.

He was born Feb. 14, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son to the late James B. and Rosella (Greenert) Montgomery.

James went to Edinboro University where he met his wife, Patricia, of 49 years. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force, SAC, 95th Security Police Squad and then went to work for the state employment office for several years before he started his own business, York Mountain Enterprises. James was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He was a private person who was a devoted husband and father. He also loved dogs, including his furry companion, Ranger.

James is survived by his loving wife, Patricia “Tish” (Hyde) Montgomery; his son, Jim (Lori) Montgomery Jr. of Pittsfield; his step-grandchildren: Aubrey and David Grant and Joe and Cassidy Confer; his step-great-grandchildren: Marlo Grant, Presley and Callie Confer; his sister-in-law, Marilyn (Bill) Gall of New Smyrna Beach, Fla,; a brother-in-law, Jesse (Colleen) Hyde of Shinglehouse, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Per James’ wishes, no service will be held.
