Ruby S. Haynes

Ruby S. Haynes, 73, of Oil Creek Road, Spring Creek, Pa., died on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020, at her residence.

She was born March 7, 1947, in Kane, Pa., a daughter of the late Robert and Florence McKee Stanley.

Ruby was raised and educated in the Kane area. She worked for Sylvania Light-bulb Company in Warren, Pa., for a few years before working for Erie County Plastics in Corry. She was an inspector and later a supervisor. She worked there for over 20 years until they closed.

Ruby enjoyed volunteering her time to the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department, where she would make macaroni salad for their chicken BBQ’S.

She also enjoyed reading, playing bingo, baking and loved gardening and knitting scarves for Christmas.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Wrayburn F. Haynes Jr., whom she married on July 19, 1969, in Spring Creek, Pa.; a son-in-law, Charles Geer II; a sister, Barbara Miller; and a grandson, Wrayburn F. Haynes IV in infancy.

Ruby is survived by a daughter, Tonya Geer and her significant other Patric Cook of Corry, Pa.; a son, Wrayburn “Wray” F. Haynes III and his significant other Cheryll Tenney of Hampton, Va.; five sisters: Betty Cox of Jamestown N.Y., Robin Crane and her husband, Sam of Oklahoma, Sharon Nelson and her husband, Bob of Tennessee, Tinna Hicks and her husband, Wayne of Arkansas and Mitzi Amerson and her husband, James also of Arkansas; three brothers: Bill Stanley and his wife, Debbie of Philadelphia, Bob Stanley and his wife, Cathie of Arizona and Roy Stanley and his wife, Vickie of Arkansas. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Charles Geer III, Tessa Geer, Sierra Geer, Kieran Haynes, Victoria Haynes, Seamus Finn Haynes, Rose Molthan and Devin and Maddi Tenney; also by many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately by her family.
