Robert E. “Bob” Budziak

Robert E. “Bob” Budziak, 89, of Warren, Pa., died peacefully, Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa., after an illness of the past year.

He was born Sept. 11, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Leo C. and Margaret Kapinowski Budziak.

He was a Warren area resident for the past 14 years, moving from Canton, Mich. He proudly served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict as an electrician’s mate. Bob con-tinued that path as a journey-man electrician with IBEW Local Union 58 and retired in 1990 from Gillis Electric Co. Livonia, Michigan. He recently recieved his 65 year member pin. Bob enjoyed his work and took pride in what he did. He was an out-door man who took pleasure in hunting and fishing, had a great sense of humor, he loved looking at his wife’s face when he presented her with a completed “honey- do” list. Bob has always been proud of his Polish her-itage, especially when it in-volved kielbasa and pierogi.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Patricia Byrne Budziak, whom he married in 1982 in Dearborn, Mich.; two children: Donna Lynn Iding of Livonia, Mich. and Robert L. Casey of Durham, N.C.; two stepchildren: Robert “Robb” Thibault and wife, Michelle of Oneonta, N.Y., and Tony Thibault and wife, Marcy of Royal Oak, Mich.; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and had a close bond with a particular nephew, Leon Budziak.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East St., Warren, Pa., on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m., where a funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Marcus Briggs, retired minister, offi-ciating. CDC Guidelines will be enforced with facemasks required and so-cial distancing. Full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and members of the Clarendon/Sheffield Veterans of Foreign Wars Funeral Honor Guard.
