Lee E. Dougherty

Lee E. Dougherty, 64, of Hare Creek Road, Corry, died Sept. 7, 2020, at LECOM Corry Memorial Hospital. after an extended illness.

He was born in Corry on Jan. 21, 1956, a son of the late Harold E. and Shirley J. Harvey Dougherty.

Lee was a hard worker who would help anyone. He was frequently called “Doc” because of his ability to fix anything. When he couldn’t personally be there to work on a machine, he would talk a person through the process on the phone until they successfully fixed the problem. He worked as a Mechanic for AR Beatty Farm Equip-ment Company.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Le-gion in Corry, and a social member at the Corry Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Corry Moose Club.

Lee is survived by his wife, Foxxi S. Miller Dougherty of Corry; his children: Michael A. Shannon of Erie, Jeffrey L. Dougherty and his wife, Elisabeth of Warren, Pa., Andrea Dougherty of Lufkin, Texas, Nicholas J. Dougherty and his wife, Rebecca of Corry; his stepdaughter Mindi L. Goodwill of Corry; his brothers: Jon E. Dougherty and his wife, Diana of Corry and Gene E. Dougherty and his wife, Sandra of Gainesville, Fla.; and his sister, Gay E. Emerson and her husband, Terry of Corry. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Gabrial and Briauna Dougherty of Warren, Aislyn, Cassidy and Michael Shannon, Jr., of Erie; his un-cle, Claude Dougherty and his wife, Bunny of Clymer; his aunt, Marge Harvey of Corry; and several nieces and nephews.

A private service and burial at Pine Grove Cemetery was held for the family. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, at 1 p.m., at the American Legion Pavilion in Corry.
