Frank Viola Jr.

Frank Viola, Jr., 85, of Warren, Pa.. died Friday morning, Sept. 4, 2020, at Rouse Home after an extend-ed illness.

He was born Oct. 23, 1934, in Warren, Pa., to the late Frank and Viola Rodgers Viola Sr.

He was a 1952 graduate of Warren High School and had served in the U.S. Army as a private first class during the Korean War. He had served as chief of the City of Warren Fire Department from 1976 until his retirement in 1991.

He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, a life member of the National Rifle Association, member of the Kalbfus Rod & Gun Club, Warren Elks Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he especially enjoyed bird hunting, hunting out west and fishing in Canada.

He is survived by one son, – Randall J. Viola and wife, Peg of Warren, Pa.; one granddaughter, Lori Viola Hurley and husband, Evan of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arvilla Fulmer Viola, whom he married Oct. 20, 1956 in Warren, Pa.; one sister, Anita Eckelmeyer Oaks; and one brother, Ronald Viola

Friends may call at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 600 Pennsylvania Ave.,West, Warren, Pa., on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020, from 10-11 a.m., when a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. with Father Richard Tomasone, pastor, officiating. Franks funeral Mass will also be livestreamed via Facebook Peg Viola Page. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of the Resurrection in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery.
