Lauralee Jean Groves-Baxter (VanHouten)

Lauralee is survived by her three children: Callie Schwab (Dustin) of Youngsville, Pa., Corey Groves of Youngsville, Pa., and Camron Hutley of Russell, Pa. Her parents. Thomas and Laura VanHouten of Pittsfield, Pa. Siblings on her father’s side: Tamara Smith (Ronald) of Pittsfield, Pa., and Kevin VanHouten (Jessica) of Pittsfield, Pa. Siblings on her mother’s side: Edward John Keenan of Pawtucket, R.I., Allen VanHouten of Cleveland, Ohio, Barbara Messier of Cleveland, Ohio, and Christina Vargas (Christian) of Richmond, Va. She is also survived by three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Lauralee was preceded in death by her biological mom, whom she started to build a relationship with prior to her death in 2003; an infant son, Chander Lee Hutley, an infant granddaughter, Layla Rayne Peters, and an infant sister, Julie VanHouten.

Lauralee spent the last two years living in Florida with her husband, three beloved dogs, her cats and a bird. Laurie loved the beach and the heat that came with it. She had a tremendous talent when it came to plants, she was known for her ability to grow beautiful larger than life flowers. Laurie enjoyed spending her days searching for frogs and salamanders with her youngest son, and continued the tradition once she moved south.

A private funeral will be set at a later date once all preparations are finalized.
