Gertrude “Trudy” Emma (Vogt) Devore

She was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Wattsburg, Pa., a daughter to the late George Adam Vogt and Emma Josephine (Thornton) Barry. Trudy was a member of the Youngsville American Legion Auxiliary and also the AMVETS Post 50. She has lived all of 79 years in the area.

Trudy is survived by her children: Wilbur (Dora) Devore, Harry (Ruthann) Devore, Dennis (Sandy) Devore and George (Reeann) Devore, Sally (Carl) Asbury and Linda (Jack) Sturges; a half-brother, Dick Childs; 24 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Trudy was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Devore; a son, Anson Devore; two daughters: Sharon Stec and Susan Burleigh; two great-grandchildren; two brothers: Merle Vogt and Alfred Vogt; a sister, Ella Mae Kowbelski as well as an infant sister.

A private funeral service will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Youngsville, with the Rev. Brian Haight, pastor of the Mission Covenant Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Youngsville Cemetery.
