Grace I. Vennberg

Grace Irene Vennberg, 94, of Hultquist Place, 715 Falconer St. Jamestown, NY, passed away at 8:30 pm Friday, January 10, 2020, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born August 20, 1925 in Ridgway, PA, a daughter of the late Nels Emil and Nelle Amanda Engstrom Nordstrom.

Grace was a 1943 graduate of Ridgway High School and a 1948 graduate of North Park Jr. College, Chicago, IL.

Before her retirement she was employed as a teller for Pennbank in Sugar Grove, PA for many years.

She was a member of the Zion Covenant Church where she active in the Covenant Women’s Group and other ladies circles of the church. Grace was a former member of the Sugar Grove Mission Covenant Church, where her husband was pastor. Being a pastor’s wife she assisted him in various ways in the church including serving as organist and pianist for several years. She loved to do needlework and travel. She and her husband were able to make three trips to Sweden and two trips to Israel and the Holy Land. They also made trips to Austria, Switzerland and Germany where they attended the Passion Play at Oberamagau.

Surviving is her husband, Rev. David H. Vennberg whom she married November 26, 1966, a sister, Jean Landin of Jamestown, NY and three nephews, Wendell (Cecelia) Landin of Schererville, IN, Dennis Landin of Baton Rouge, LA, Kent (Lisa) Landin of Sugar Grove, PA.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 17, 2020, in the Zion Covenant Church, Jamestown, NY. The Rev. Rick Miller, pastor will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Mission Covenant Cemetery, Sugar Grove, PA.

Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Friday in the church.
