Susan McGuire

Susan L. McGuire, 75, of Sheffield, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019, peacefully surrounded by family following a six-year battle with breast cancer.

Susan was born on January 16, 1944, in Warren, to the late James and Maryalice (Ansell) Mahood [later Moylan]. Susan was a 1962 graduate of Warren Area High School. She worked at several businesses such as Montgomery Ward and Sylvania. She spent the bulk of her career caring for other people’s children by operating her own daycare center and later retiring from the Warren County School District as a Teacher’s Aide.

She was an active member of the Barnes Methodist Church. Susan was instrumental in developing their Grief Share Program, participated in Bible studies, and assisted with prayer chains. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, painting, scrapbooking, crafts, and baking. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Kelli Ford (granddaughter, Kennedy), of Warren; her siblings, Greg (Kris) Moylan, of Florida, Buzz Mahood, of Alabama; her companion, John Mihalko, of Sheffield; her stepdaughter, Jo’an Lindell (step grandson, Tad); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband (Richard), her brother, James Mahood; her son, Jeffrey Bosin; and her daughter, Marjorie Barry.

Friends will be received from 47 pm on Sunday, November 24, at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, PA 16365 and for hour prior to a funeral service at 11 am on Monday, November 25, at Barnes United Methodist Church, Route 666 & Church Lane, Sheffield, PA 16347. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon immediately following the church service. The luncheon will be held at Sheffield Methodist Church, 11 West Main St., Sheffield, PA 16347. (Please note that the funeral and the luncheon are at two different church locations.)
