Rodney James Morley of School Street, Tiona, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on November 10th at his daughter Theresa’s home in Ridgway, Pennsylvania after an extended illness. Rod was born at home in Sheffield, Pennsylvania on October 16, 1935, to Clyde Morley and Constance Fahey Morley. He lived in Barnes for a few years and then moved to Tiona with his family. He attended Warren Area High School where he excelled in athletics. After honorably serving in the United States Air Force, he returned to Tiona and began working first in the timbering industry and then for the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service until retirement in the early 1990s. He was a devoted husband to his wife Joan Ruth Heasley who preceded him in death.

Rod was an expert woodsman and avid hunter and fisherman. He traveled well over two dozen times to hunt elk and mule deer and to fish for cutthroat trout.

Rod and Joan were married on November 14, 1964, at St. Clara’s Roman Catholic Church in Clarendon Pennsylvania and resided in Tiona throughout their life.

He is survived by his children, Karl and Theresa Morley Palmer of Ridgway, PA and their sons Maxwell Jacob and Matthew Alan and great-grandson, Maverick Rodney Palmer; David and Lee Anne Burns Morley and their sons, Ian Michael, Isaac Lee, and Jonathan David, and Greg and Lisa Morley Schiller, Prospect, PA and their daughters Constance YuJie and Anna Jade.

Rod was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother, Fahey Morley; and sister, Sandy Morley.

A funeral Mass will be said on Thursday, November 14, 2020, at Noon at St. Anthony’s Church in Saybrook with his burial immediately afterwards at Barnes Cemetery.
