Richard Pollock

Richard J. Pollock, 67, of Sheffield, PA died unexpectedly on November 26, 2019, in the emergency room of Warren General Hospital. Richard was born on January 29, 1952, to Peter and Elizabeth Pollock. Richard was educated in Sheffield schools and graduated with the class of 1969. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1971 to 1975, being honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant E5. He was a member of St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church where he was an altar server in his youth. He was a member of the Sheffield Rod and Gun Club, the NRA, and the American Legion Post 135. He was an excellent carpenter and wood craftsman and was a perfectionist in all of his projects. He was a history buff and enjoyed studying the Civil War and World War II. He possessed an unusual sense of humor and had a quick wit; always good for a laugh.

Following his military service he was employed for a brief time with the Sheffield Township maintenance crew and United Refining Company, then for numerous years at Betts Industries and Rexnord as a machinist. Lastly and until his retirement he worked for Sheffield Land and Timber as a well tender–a job that was well suited to his love for the outdoors.
