James Black

James A. Black, 91, of Youngsville, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, surrounded by his family.

He was born December 12, 1927, in Oil City, PA, a son to the late Barton and Lillian M. (Patmore) Black. Jim was a US Army Veteran, having served during WWII. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Marguerite (Lichtenberger) Black; 5 children, Jean Benedict of Pittsfield, Susan (Ray) Griffin of Youngsville, Carl (Cathy) Black of Sugar Grove, Jenny Hornstrom of Pleasantville and Molly (Frank) Hodges of Sugar Grove; a daughter-in-law, Candy Early Black; a brother, Howard (Besse) Black of York, PA; 10 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 14 great-grandsons, 6 great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Black, one brother and two sisters.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
