Grant awarded for Beaty Park rehab

The City of Warren is set to receive $75,000 of $405,400 in state grants for the rehabilitation of Beaty Park.

The money comes from Community Parks, Small Community and Partnership grants from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources according to Senator Scott Hutchinson. The $405,400 will be split between the City of Warren and two townships in Venango County.

The city plans to use the money to rehabilitate Beaty Park. This is set to include the installation of play equipment with required safety resurfacing, ADA access and landscaping among other related site improvements.

“These grants represent a sizeable investment by the state in the development and improvements of these parks,” said Senator Hutchinson. “These improved recreational facilities will provide new opportunities and improve the quality of life for everyone in these communities.”

Emleton Borough and the City of Franklin, Venango County, have also chosen to allocate the grant money to rehabilitation of area parks.
