James D. Stewart, 76, of Youngsville, Pa. passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019, at his home.
He was born February 17, 1943, in Tidioute, Pa., a son to the late John D. and Dehlia S. (Jerman) Stewart. Jim was a 1961 graduate of Tidioute High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He then went to work at Whirley Industries as one of their first employees, retiring after 34 years. Jim was a member of the Corry VFW Post# 264 and also a lifetime member of the Warren American Legion Post #135. Racing and baseball were two of Jim’s favorite things to watch. In his early years, he worked on race cars and was a member of a pit crew.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Rose Madigan Stewart, whom he married on June 6, 1995 in Warren. He is also survived by a brother, John Stewart, a sister, Janet Stewart Anderson, both of Tidioute as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a sisterinlaw, Suzanne Stewart and a brotherinlaw, Donald Anderson.
A celebration of life service will be announced and held at a later date.
