Beverly Church

Beverly A. Church, 81, of Ashville, NY, formerly of Russell, PA, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 7, 2019.

Beverly was born May 17, 1938 in Lander, PA, the daughter of the late Paul and Marie (Annis) Stanton. Beverly was a 1956 graduate of Northern Area High School, and later graduated from WCA School of Nursing in 1959. She retired from the Warren State Hospital as a nurse manager, where she had worked for 30 years.

On June 30, 1961 Beverly married the late Leon Church in Russell, PA, who preceded her in death on March 13, 2006. Beverly was a member of the Lander United Methodist Church, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary, Sugar Grove American Legion Auxiliary, and the 4L’s Club of Russell. Beverly was a trustee of the Thompson Hill Cemetery Association and secretary of the Lander Alumni for many years. She was an avid card player. She enjoyed wintering in Avon Park, FL for 15 years, and her best memories were made at her cottage on Chautauqua Lake, NY with her family and friends. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments.

Beverly is survived by her twin daughters Betsy (Walter) Miller, of Warren, PA, and Beth (David) Meyers, of Cranston, RI; and sons Paul (Charlene) Church, of Sugar Grove, PA and Todd (Debbie) Church, of Russell, PA. Beverly is survived by seven grandchildren: Dr. Ashley Church and husband Cale Crocker, Nickolas Church, Bradley (Meridon) Church, Anna Meyers, Dr. Megan Church and her husband Dr. Stephen Carfangia, Maria Miller, and Maribeth Miller. She is also survived by two greatgrandsons, Gage Crocker and Waylon Church. She is survived by her sister Shirley Hitchcock and brother Raymond (Nancy) Stanton, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 58 PM, on Friday, August 9, 2019, at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. E. Warren, PA 16365 and for one hour prior to a funeral service which will be held at 11 AM, on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at the funeral home, with Rev. Marcus Briggs, officiating.

Burial will be held at Thompson Hill Cemetery.
