Richard Callahan

A lifetime Warren, Pennsylvania, resident, Richard E. Callahan, died June 9, 2019, at UPMC Hamot Hospital Erie, PA.

Richard was born October 28, 1942, in Warren, PA, to Dennis and Gaynell Callahan. Richard served in United States Army from 1960-1963 as an Air Defense Missile Crewman and was stationed in Okinawa.

He enjoyed boating and fishing, hunting, and working on cars.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 313 and American Legion Post 945.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Callahan, of 53 years; two sons, Rick and Michael Callahan of Warren, PA; a daughter, Christina Callahan VanMaele (Anthony) of Painesville, OH; seven grandchildren, Devin, Erin (Mitch), Connor, Cole, Antonio, Mackenzie and Madison; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Landon; two brothers, Robert (Nancy) Callahan, and Knuten (Diane) Callahan of Warren, PA; one sister, Mary Callahan Sheets of Warren, PA; 2 nieces and 2 nephews; and 2 great-nieces and 6 great-nephews.

At his request, no service will be held.
