Edward Stappenbeck

Edward C. Stappenbeck, 81, of 405 Wheeler Hill Rd., Frewsburg, passed away Monday (Apr. 22, 2019) at UPMC Chautauqua.

He was born September 22, 1937 in Rochester, the son of Edward and Sarah VanLou Stappenbeck.

Ed had been employed by Urber Trucking in Sugar Grove.

Edward was a member of Carroll Lodge 1147 F & AM and enjoyed trap shooting and NASCAR racing.

He will be remembered for being a caring and giving person.

Ed is survived by his wife, Norma Munger Stappenbeck; five children: Edward “Tiger” Stappenbeck Jr. of Jamestown, Todd Stappenbeck of Falconer, Timothy “Tucker” Stappenbeck, Stacey Pelham, and Shelly (Floyd) Bacon of Frewsburg; his grandchildren: Melissa Stappenbeck, Sara (Brock) Jones, Lindsey Caldwell Frank of Jamestown, Edward “Buddy” Stappenbeck, Tim (Jess) Stappenbeck, Timothy John “TJ” Stappenbeck, and James (Kira) Pelham all of Frewsburg, David (Jackie) Hyser of Lakewood, Caylin Stappenbeck of NC, Floyd Bacon (Heather Young Deyell) of Bemus Point, and Elyot Stappenbeck of Eden; twentynine greatgrandchildren, and a sister, Mary Hoffman of Rochester.

Besides his parents he was predeceased two grandchildren: Scott E. Pelham and Kristen Stappenbeck, and a brother Lee Stappenbeck.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Fri. in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
