Leroy Streich

Leroy “Red” Streich, 63, of Warren, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at home surrounded by his family after a brief illness.

Leroy was born November 6, 1955 in Warren, PA to the late Edwin and Bonnie (Farrell) Streich. He was a 1973 graduate of Warren Area High School.

“Red” was employed by Glade Township, holding the title of Road Master from 19881996 and Supervisor from 19842000; Laborers Local 603 from 1986 until his retirement in 2018, as a member of the Laborers he worked on many local projects including; Kinzua Reservoir, Warren General Hospital, the former Bilo market, Hickory Street Bridge, Warren Parking Garage, Russell Elementary School and Warren Area High School; Precision Pipeline Company as a Safety Officer from 20072014. He got to see much of the country working on many projects for Precision.

Leroy was a longtime member of Glade Volunteer Fire Department, a lifetime member of Struthers Independent Hose Co. #1, and a very active member of Fraternal Order of Eagles #313.

He also enjoyed helping his friends and family with their many projects, spending time with his family and dogs Layla and Bella, plowing snow, cutting firewood, mowing patterns into the lawn, watching NASCAR racing every Sunday and eating meals at the Train Station.

He had many friends both young and old and always found room in his heart for more.

Leroy is survived by his loving wife Glenda (Egger) Streich, whom he married on November 16, 1974; his children, Paul (Lori) Streich, Jodi (Gavin) Hollabaugh and Brian (Emily) Streich; his siblings, Ed (Sue), Donald, David, Larry and Helen (Mike) Gustafson; his grandchildren, Alex and Madison, Noah and Elijah and Peyton; his extended family, Sandy and Bob Hansen, Carol Spicer, Donna and Jack Hunt, Dan and Sally Egger, Jim and Cindy Egger and Carrie and Bill Spence; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 24 pm and 79 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. E. Warren, PA 16365 and for one hour prior to a funeral service which will take place at 11 am on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery.
