James Nicholson

James Rodger Nicholson 89 of Tidioute passed away Sunday November 25 2018, surrounded by family following a brief illness at the Rouse estates.

He was born Jan 20 1929 to Samuel Roy and Clara Belle (Rodgers) Nicholson in Triumph Township (Tidioute) Pa.

He graduated from Tidioute High school in 1947 and started working for the Pa State Game Commission in 1944, working in LandManagement and as a deputy game warden. He retired from PSGC in 1980 after

36 years of service. He entered the US army Jan 22 1952 for 2 years as a Corporal at Camp Pickett Virginia Company C 4th Medical Training Battalion. He received an honorable discharge in Jan 21 1954. He received the National defense service medal and a good conduct medal.

James married ZoAnn Carnahan on May 6th 1949 in Tidioute. He is survived by his 5 Children; Three Sons, James Edson (Carol) of Pittsfield, Dennis Lee (Polly) and Jack Rodger (Betty) both of Tidioute, Two Daughters, Beth Ann (Thomas) Sabella of Grand Valley, and Elaine Catherine (Allen) Robbins of Sugar Grove. A Sister Ardelle Shanley of Venice Fla, 12 Grand Children, 17 Great Grand Children, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife ZoAnn of 69 years who passed away July 1st 2018, Two Brothers Claude Dean and Roy Thomas of

Tidioute, and one Sister Faye Etta Nicholson McCanna of Englewood Fla.

Jim was a Boy Scout leader for his 3 Sons. He was a member of the First

Presbyterian Church of Tidioute where he served as an elder. He was an Avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening after his retirement.

A memorial Service will be held at the 1 at First Presbyterian Church, 196 Main Street, Tidioute on Saturday December 15th at 10 am with a luncheon held directly after.
