Ray Kahle

Ray Kahle, 86, of 2205 Indian Camp Run, Youngsville, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Ray was born May 31, 1932 in Fisher, PA to the late Merle and Clair (Anthony) Kahle. He graduated from the University of California of PA with his teaching degree and went on to work as an Industrial Arts teacher. He started at the Lakeview School District, then to Parker High School in Emlenton, PA and then finally to Youngsville High School in 1963 where he taught woodworking and drafting until his retirement in 1993. Ray was also a self-employed contractor and farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his camp in Jefferson County, PA.

He is survived by his wife Judith Ann (Stahlman) Kahle, whom he married January 17, 1955 in Frostburg, MD, 3 sons: David Kahle of Jacksonville, FL, Stephen Kahle of Erie and John Kahle of Warren, 3 grandaughters: Linsey Kahle of Orlando, FL, Lisa Kahle and Leanna Kahle, both of Erie, 2 sisters, Dorothy (Stanley) McClain of Sigel, PA, and Hazel (Donald)Daugherty of Strattenville, PA, 2 brothers: Mervin and Robert Kahle, both of Sigel, PA and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by a sister Mildred Bobbert and an infant granddaughter Lauren Rachel Kahle.

Friends will be received on Monday from 5-7pm at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 314 North Main St. in Youngsville. A funeral service will be held there on Tuesday at 11 am.
