Marion English

Marion L. English, 88, of Oil City, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Oil City Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born September 13, 1930 in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late Luis and Wilda Rowland Duarte.

After graduating from Oil City High School in 1948, she worked various jobs, including as a clerk for the South Side Pharmacy, the Derrick as a receptionist, and as a stay at home mom.

An accomplished musician, she was a pianist for the Les James Orchestra, sang with the Stardusters, and played the organ for St. Luke Church in Youngsville and St. Stephen Church in Oil City.

Marion enjoyed playing cards and board games with her family and loved cats.

Mrs. English was a member of St. Stephen Church in Oil City.

On June 15, 1951, she was married to Robert L. English in St. Patrick Church in Franklin and he survives.

In addition to her husband, surviving are two children, Robert L. English, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Erie, and Patty Bush and her husband David of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren, Jason Kreidler, Ryan Kreidler, John Kreidler, Jr., Angelique Ehat, Erin Spangenberg, Erica Evans, Stephanie Servis, Benjamin English, and Miranda Siler; and 16 great grandchildren.

Also surviving is a soninlaw, John Kreidler, Sr.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara L. Kreidler; a brother, Lorence Duarte; and two sisters, Kay Graham and Anna Jean Shoop.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Stephen Church in Oil City on Thursday at 10 am with the Rev. Ian McElrath celebrating.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
