He attended school at Trimms Corners. In January 1945, he enlisted in the U. S. Army. In the service, he was a mechanic and truck driver. He served in the Philippines and was honorably discharged in July 1946. After returning from the service, he worked on the family farm. In 1947 he moved to Erie and went to work at General Electric. He then worked for many years as a laborer for the Laborers’ Union Local 603 in Erie, retiring in 1988.
Glenn operated Glenn’s Gun Shop at his residence in Columbus selling and repairing guns. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, which he enjoyed until his eyesight no longer permitted him to do so. He was an excellent marksman and he trained his dogs to be great hunters. Glenn’s favorite pastime was taking his boat to Chautauqua Lake and Lake Wilhelm to fish.
