James Mahood Jr.

James “Jim” Mahood 82, of Delray Beach, FL., passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at Trustbridge Hospice, Delray Beach, Fl., following a brief illness.

Mr. Mahood was born in Tiona, Pa. June 6, 1935, son of the late Mary Alice Moylan and James Mahood Sr.

He had lived most of his life in Warren, until he retired and moved to Florida in 2004. He was a 1954 graduate of Warren Area High School. He immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served in the Korean War. He held the rank of HM3 while in active duty and continued his duties as part of the reserves, where he received an Honorable Discharge in July of 1962.

He worked for The National Forge, Fisher & Creal Architects and several years as the Facilities Operations Manager for the Blair Corp until his retirement in 1997. He was an active Member in the First United Methodist Church in Warren, serving on Trustees committee and a member on the Board of Directors for the Crary Home.

He coached his sons in numerous intermural sports for many years and was an avid golfer.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth Anne “Rudy” Mahood, to whom he was married for 45 years, a Grandson, Christian James Mahood and a nephew Jeffery Bosin, both of Warren Pa.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Scalise Mahood, whom he married on October 26, 2003 in Delray Beach Fl. Two sons, Monty Mahood of Cape Canaveral, Fl., Pete Mahood and wife Melanie of Wake Forest, N.C.; two brothers, Leonard “Buzz” Mahood, and Greg Moylan and wife Kristina,; and a sister, Susan Mahood McGuire, Sheffield Pa.; five grandchildren Michael, Haley, Tanner, Lindsey and Kylie; two step children Dennis Morell and wife Janey and daughters,; Claire and Ellen,; Kristine Morell Lucco and husband Jonathon Lucco and children,; Madison and Lance. As well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Palm Beach National Chapel, at a date yet to be determined, in Lake Worth Fl.

He will be laid to rest at the South Florida VA National Cemetery of Lake Worth Florida with full military honors. Donations can be made made to; First United Methodist Church, 200 Market Street Warren, Pa. 16365, or the American Veterans Center, Arlington, VA. 22201.
