Francis Pesko

Francis P Pesko, 92, of Warren, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House.

Francis was born November 13, 1925 in Warren, PA, the son of the late John and Anna Sciacko Pesko. He was a lifelong Warren resident and a graduate of Warren High School. He served in the US Navy and then worked at G.G. Greene Wire and Metal Specialists for many years, from which he retired. He was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.

A true family man, Francis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is a man fondly remembered for his love to laugh. He enjoyed woodworking, his garden, NASCAR, football, baseball, and playing cards. He especially enjoyed his family, his grandchildren and his cat Skeeter.

Francis is survived by his wife, Doris M. Wonderling Pesko, whom he married on May 29, 1948; three daughters, Karen Peterson of Warren, Gayle Massa and her husband Sam, of Warren, and Laurie Steber and her husband Mark, of Sugar Grove; a sister, Kay Pesko, of Warren; a brother, Eugene Pesko and his wife Barb, of Warren; five grandchildren, Wendey Lindsey, of Edinboro, PA, Chelsey Gray and husband Mike, of Russell, Mark Massa and wife Natalie, of Warren, Damian Steber and spouse Chad, of Jamestown, NY, Danielle Riel, and husband Joe, of Sugar Grove, and Amy Zimmerman and husband Shaun, of Kersey, PA; eight greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Francis is preceded in death by three sisters, Sophie Yaggie, Genevive Houghton, and Marian Sanden; two brothers, Michael Pesko, and John Pesko; and a soninlaw, Jerry Peterson.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, 16365, on Monday, February 5, from 12 noon until 1:30 pm, at which time a funeral service will be held, with Rev. Rick Tomasone, pastor, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren.
