Theo Forney

Theo C. “Zeke” Forney 80 of Riverview, Florida and formerly of Pittsfield, Pennsylvania, and formerly of Plainwell, Michigan passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Theo was born September 11, 1937 in Climax, Michigan. He was the son of Ray, and Vera (Hotrum) Forney. He is survived by his wife Johanne. They were married February 7, 2004 in Florida where they wintered. They spent the summer in Pittsfield, Pennsylvania. Theo is also survived by his son Ray A. (Sheila) Forney of Plainwell, Michigan. He had three grandchildren, Dustin, Brooke, and Randi; five great grand children, Haven, Braylin, Jaxson, Mason, and Briley. Also, sister Bonnie (Dan) Schanz; many nephews, and nieces. His stepchildren include Dale (Melissa J.) Haight, Mona (Tim) Craft, Lori (Russ) Bromley, and Bruce (Wanda) Haight; His step grandchildren are Tracey, Jamie, Christy, Amanda, Tim, Nicholas, Lyndsey, and Heather. 9 step great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased in death by one brother, Ralph, and sister Diane Colwell on November 22, 2017. Zeke was a very patriotic person. Theo was in the class of 1954 at Climax High School before entering the Navy. He served in the US Navy and was on the USS Albany(CA123). He was a life member of the VFW, Otsego, Michigan; American Legion Post #0658, Youngsville, Pennsylvania; Fraternal Order of Eagles Warren, Pennsylvania; United Association of Pipe Fitters (Retired). Zeke was known for his story telling, and making great fish and chicken dinners for family and snowbirds at the Alafia Resort and Hidden River Resort in Florida. He also volunteered at the Warren County Fairgrounds and will be greatly missed by his family and friends made through the years. Funeral plans will be made at a later date.
