Eleanor Cooper

Eleanor Jean Cooper, 73, of Warren, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, at her home. Eleanor was born December 24, 1944, in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Jennie (Dymond) Lamoreux.

Eleanor was raised in Wilkes-Barre, and enjoyed attending USO dances, where she eventually met her husband. After moving to the Warren County area, she became a member of the Sheffield United Methodist Church. Eleanor enjoyed fishing, camping at Harvey’s Lake, and playing Bingo.

She is survived by four daughters, Paula Jones Arden, of Youngsville, Donna Cooper, of NJ, Peggy Wasser, of Middlesex, and Barbara Cooper Wood, of Warren; one sister, Peggy Gamble, of Shamokin Dam; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Paul F. Cooper; sister, Barbara Connor, and nephew, Billy Gamble.

Friends will be received at the Sheffield United Methodist Church, 12 North St, Sheffield, PA 16347, on Saturday, January 13, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a memorial service will be held there with Rev. Terry Teluch, pastor, officiating.
