Phyllis Maze

She was born in Warren to Vera Hall and Edward Raymond Miller. She graduated from Warren Area High School in 1948. Phyllis worked at various times at area banks and at the National Forge. In 1949, Phyllis married the late Kenneth C. Stewart Jr. In 1969, she married Clifford L Maze. Phyllis was a member of the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church, and Hill and Dale Garden Club. She enjoyed antique and classic car events. Phyllis will best be remembered for her love of old hymns, her love of her friends and neighbors, and the great love she shared generously with her family. Phyllis showed what it means to share God’s love, thinking more of others than of herself.

In addition to her husband, Phyllis is survived by daughters, Gayle Stewart Wright of East Brady, and Deborah Pring of Frewsburg, NY, by sons Kenneth Carl Stewart III (Dorothy) of Corry, PA and Dennis L . Maze (Jennifer) of Sugar Grove, two sisters, Yvonne Lee of North Warren, and Patricia Van Cise of Warren, five grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by a sister, Claudia Holmberg.

A service to celebrate the life of Phyllis Maze will be held at the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church 210 Jamestown Street, Sugar Grove at 3:00 p.m. with calling hours beginning at 2 p.m. prior to the service.

The family suggest that memorial donations be made to the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Building Fund.
