Robert H. Billman
Robert H. Billman, 80, of Warren, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, in the home he built on the land of his forefathers in Pleasant Township, after a lengthy illness. He was born August 29, 1936, the son of the late Howard and Martha (Hiem) Billman.
Bob and his wife Sandy were married on August 16, 1962, and were happily married for fifty four years. They attended the North Warren Presbyterian Church.
He graduated From Warren High School in 1956, and then served in the U.S. Army. He worked construction with his father for many years and went on to build many local buildings, including the Pleasant Township Social Hall. He retired from Betts Industries after thirty eight years of dedicated service.
Bob had a passion for traveling and loved visiting many different places, including his dream hunting trip in Idaho. Bob and his wife Sandy enjoyed their lifelong friends, Bev and Ken Lawson. They spent winter months in Florida enjoying the sunshine with their Florida friends. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting with his sons and grandsons, most of all. He made many friends while he was a member of the Circle Eight Square Dance Club, where they shared much laughter. Bob was a former member of the Kinzua Valley Car Club, the Eagles Club, and the ATV Club.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Sandra Houser Billman; his devoted sons, Shawn Billman, of North Warren, PA, and Kevin and Kimberly Billman, of Pleasantview, TN. He is also mourned by his beloved grandsons, Jeffrey Billman, of Warren , PA, Christopher Billman, and his fiance, Natalie Freed, of Tyrone, PA, and Nathan Billman, of Norwalk, CT. He is also survived by Pete and Marlene Engman, Ed and Jan Houser, and many wonderful nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces.
Bob was predeceased by his son, Robert M. Billman, on December 2, 2008.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, on Thursday, June 22, from 5 to 8 pm, and at the North Warren Presbyterian Church, 200 S. State Street, North Warren, on Friday, June 23, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there, with The Rev. Burfoot “Buddy” S. Ward, III, pastor, officiating. Military honors will be provided by members of the Youngsville American Legion Honor Guard.
