John Gentilman
John Joseph Gentilman, 66, of 214 Chestnut Street, Kane, PA died Sunday, May 7, at Sena Kean Manor in Smethport, PA after a week in hospice care.
“G” was born April 10, 1951 in Kane, son of the late John E. and Genevieve H. (Rossi) Gentilman.
He was a lifelong resident of Kane and a 1969 graduate of Kane Area High School.
For more than a decade John served as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Instructor with Kane Ambulance.
For 25 years he owned a beer distributorship in Kane and, for six of those years, he also had a distributorship in Bradford.
John served the residents of Kane as a Borough Councilman for eleven years. He resigned in 2016 due to illness. He had a big heart for his community and was devoted to the people of Kane.
John’s Christian faith was very important to him. He was a lifelong member of St. Callistus Church in Kane, PA.
At John’s request there will be no viewing or funeral. Burial of cremains will take place as he requested.
John leaves behind a multitude of devoted friends; an aunt, Jeanne Gentilman, from Bedford, PA; and many cousins including Joe Gentilman of Enola, PA; Karen Gentilman Clopp (Butch) of Great Valley, NY; Mike Pasquarett (Pat McEvoy) of Carlisle, PA; Rick Gentilman (Elle) of Acton, MA; Ruth Gentilman Peterson (Jim) of Kane, PA; Bill Gentilman (Trish) of Warren, PA; Mark Gentilman (Susie) of Burke, VA; Bob McKenna (Mary) of Johnsonburg; and Carla McKenna Asel (Clyde) of Kane, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
