Brian Weaver

Brian Keith Weaver, 57, of Onsted, MI, and formerly of Warren, PA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, after a yearlong battle with brain cancer.

Brian was born on February 4, 1960, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Harry T. and Alice M. Weaver. He grew up in the Air Force, having lived in England, Florida and New Mexico, but graduated from Warren Area High School in 1978. He was a standout athlete even in his youth. A superb and fearless wide receiver, highly skilled wrestler and a baseball and softball player par excellence, anyone who played with Brian or faced him on the mat knew him to be the consummate teammate and a formidable foe. After graduation, Brian served four years in the Navy as an electrician aboard the USS Thomas C. Hart. He worked for Dave Paul at Alpha Omega in Warren for almost 10 years, then for the US Bureau of Prisons (BOP) until his retirement in 2012, after serving 20 years at FCIs Allenwood, Fort Dix, Elkton, and Milan. During his time with the BOP, Brian received numerous awards at the local, regional and national levels for exceptional performance.

Brian touched a lot of lives in his time on this earth, his temporary home. He was serious about health and fitness and imparted his philosophy on many, many others. He was widely known as an all-around “good guy” with a quick wit and a brilliant sense of humor. He had a caring, but fierce heart and anyone who knew him well knew him as a devoted and loyal friend. Brian was one of those guys who kept friends for life, not just for short periods.

Brian is survived by his mother, Alice; and his brother, Randy Weaver, both of Johnstown, PA.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, CMSgt (USAF Retired) Harry Weaver.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Sunday, May 7, from 4 to 7 p.m., and at the Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Penn. Ave. E,. Warren, on Monday, May 8, from 11 a.m. until noon, at which time a funeral service will be held there with Rev. Rich Pearson, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Keith Martin.

Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
