Alan Petersen

Alan Douglas Petersen, 65, formerly of Warren, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 14, 2017 at his residence in Muncy, PA.

Alan was born July 18, 1951 in Warren, PA, the son of H. Allen Petersen and his wife Bobbi, of Warren, and Norma Gregersen Petersen, of Russell, PA. Alan was a 1969 graduate of Warren Area High School, and was previously employed with the Pa. Dept. of Corrections in Muncy. Alan was an avid country music fan and an accomplished musician. He played keyboard and harmonica with many country music bands in the Warren area, and about Wiliamsport. Growing up in Warren, he held a great interest in the Cornplanter Indians and the local history, as well as Civil War Era History. He and his family were members of St. John’s Lutheran Church and he attended the New Life Temple in Pennsdale, PA.

In addition to his mother and father, Alan is survived by his son, Ryan Petersen of Williamsport; a brother, Jon Petersen and wife Karen, of Warren; two sisters, Lynn McCuen and husband Guy, of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Julie Stauffer and husband Joseph ,of York, PA; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends,

Family and friends and will gather at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 Pleasant Dr., Warren, PA, on Wednesday, April 19 from 10 am until 12 noon, at which time a funeral service will be held, with The Rev. Susan Schofield, officiating.

Burial will be private in the Warren County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 Pleasant Drive, Warren, PA 16365 or the Warren County Historical Society, 210 Fourth Ave., Warren, PA 16365.
