Sally Wertz

Sally A. Wertz, 75, of Youngsville, passed away Mondayevening, February 20, 2017 in Oil City, PA after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born February 11, 1942 in Youngsville, PA, adaughter to the late Lawrence A. and Lila (Bringham) Wertz. When she wasyounger, Sally and her parents owned a farm where they worked their hearts outand took joy in doing every day. She was very fond of animals, especially her dog, Ellie Mae. She always enjoyed having visitors and sitting on her backporch. Sally loved her rose garden and would watch them bloom every year; whenthey were ready, Chris would cut them and bring them in for her to enjoy. Beinga member of the Corry amvets, her many trips to the casino with her family,watching the goldfish in the waterfall and all of the many adventures she tookoff on made her so happy. The one thing Sally looked forward to every day wasseeing Lila come down the stairs to sit on her lap, watch tv, eat breakfast andhave many conversations. She was the most wonderful second mother, friend, andaunt and meant the world to her family.

Sally is survived by her closest nieces and caretakers, Chris (Jim) Snyder of Oil City, PA and Allison (Aaron) Kitchel of Russell, PA;a greatnephew, Brad (Brittany) Renwick of Grand Valley, PA; a brother, Harry Wertz of Pittsfield; her nieces and nephews, Harry Wertz Jr., John Wertz andDonnalan Wertz; two great greatnieces, Lila Kitchel and Peityn Renwick and herbest friend, Margie, whom she has kept in contact with throughout many years.

In addition to her parents, Sally is preceded in deathby her sisters, Clara Jane Wertz and Betty Eastman; a brotherin law, LeonardEastman and a nephew, James Wertz.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 North Main Street in Youngsville from 35 pm at which time a memorial servicewill be held there with the Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor of the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, officiating.
