Allene Stahlman

Allene M. Stahlman, 84, of Warren, died Thursday, October 6, 2016, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center.

Allene was an incredible daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She lived a very full, rich, good life, and was one of the hardest working human beings to ever walk this earth. She was a woman who had limitless love to give others especially her family and friends. She had guts, and demanded nothing less than the best from people, and that they do the right thing. Allene was a woman of great, unbending faith in God, and exemplified the love of Christ in every way. What a stellar example of a human being. She set the bar very high for us, and we must work very hard to live up to the standards set by her. Thank you God for the gift of Allene Stahlman. Oh, how she will be missed! We love you so much, mom.

Allene was born July 25, 1932, in Erie. She was the daughter of the late George Ricci and Florence Violet Hofficher Ricci. She was a 1950 graduate of Academy High School in Erie. Allene was employed by Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania as an operator, and later worked at Warren Dental Arts as an orthodontic assistant. Allene stayed active in the Warren Community-she was a member of the First Lutheran Church, a Hospice volunteer, and volunteered at the Senior Center making dinners for many years.

She is survived by two children, Craig Thomas and Rick Thomas, both of Warren; one sister, Jean Rys, of South Plainfield, NJ; six stepchildren, Louise Swartz, Sally Fiscus, Rebecca Campbell, Carola Dauchert, Elizabeth Kuschmich and Richard Stahlman, Jr.; two grandchildren, Jason T. Thomas, of Warren, and Brandi L. Thomas, of Falconer, NY; two greatgrandchildren, Leah Vandermark, and Jessa Thomas; and one greatgranddaughter on the way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl I. Thomas, Jr., and her second husband, Richard W. Stahlman, Sr.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Sunday, October 9, from 5 to 7 p.m.; and at the First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Avenue, Warren, on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there with the Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution should consider the First Lutheran Church, Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave, Warren, PA 16365 or Warren Public Library, 205 Market St, Warren, PA 16365.
