Joseph Spade
Joseph L. Spade, Jr., 80, of Russell, died Saturday, June 25, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Joseph was born January 20, 1936, in Jamestown, NY. He was the son of the late Joseph and Marie (Barr) Spade.
Joseph served in the US Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Sergeant in 1962. He worked at the Penelec Power Plant for many years, retiring as Superintendent of Operations. Joseph and his wife are members of the First Church of God. He was also a 32nd degree member of the North Star Lodge Free and Accepted Masons. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon L. Anthony Spade, whom he married June 16, 1956; three children, Linda Sisk, and husband, Patrick, of Lewis Run, Debra Schmitt, and companion, Len Means, of Russell, and Gregory Spade, and wife, Diana, of Warren; one sister, Frances “Babe” Spade, of CA; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou McKee.
