A private committal service for Richard A. Haskins, who died on Thursday, May 5, was held at St. Joseph Cemetery on Monday, May 9. Rev. Jon Swart, associate pastor, officiated. Serving as pallbearers were Rob Cooper, Dave Paul, Chevy Haskins, Keith Haskins, John Gardner, Jim Haskins and Robert Haskins. The Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.

Richard A Haskins, 50, of Russell, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at his residence.
Richard was born December 6, 1965, in Warren, PA. He is the son of the Harry L. Haskins of Russell, PA, and Judith (Moore) Haskinsof Anchorage, Alaska. He was a graduate of Warren Area High School, and lived in Alaska for seventeen years. He worked there in construction as an equipment operator, retiring due to workplace injury.
Among the many things Richard enjoyed were first his family and many friends, and he had a great talent for woodworking, scroll sawing and creating beautiful intricate one of a kind pieces. He was a member of the Eagles Club and the Carroll Rod and Gun Club.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Denise Whitmore, Russell, PA, Diane Zaffino and husband Jeff, Warren, PA, and Donna VanOrd and husband David, Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Keith Haskins, Russell, PA; a half brother, Daniel Haskins: a step brother, Tim Hillyard, N.Warren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Dickey Haskins; and a brother, Ronald Haskins.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life is planned and will be announced at a later date.
